Dear Delegates and Friends,
On behalf of ACCP board and the Organizing Committee, I am delighted and honored to invite you to the 23rd Asian Conference on Clinical Pharmacy (ACCP), considered by many as one of the most exciting pharmacy meetings in Asian pharmacy circles. The original idea of ACCP came from Asian pharmacists who were looking for a practical conference where they could exchange and share ideas on the concept of clinical pharmacy in the 1990's. Our Western colleagues, the pioneers of clinical pharmacy, have led the way in redefining an innovative role of patient-centered pharmaceutical care. On the other hand, Asian pharmacists then were facing with many challenges related to the promotion of our profession.
The first meeting was held in America in 1997 and since then the annual ACCP meeting has been held in various countries including China, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, and Iran. The ACCP vision is to be the leading force in Asia in initiating and promoting clinical pharmacy practice, education, and research. Our annual meeting is definitely an important platform to achieve this vision. In 2023, the first ACCP journal, Research on Clinical Pharmacy (RCP) was finally published after continued effort and valuable contribution from various board members.
This year's conference will be held in Hong Kong, China with the theme of "Inter-professional Collaboration for Better & Cost-effective Outcomes: From Greater Bay Area (GBA) to the Globe". We invite practicing pharmacists, academic representatives and research scientists from different professional fields and parts of the world to join us in our three day program. Hong Kong is my birth place and it is now incorporated into Guangdong province of China as Greater Bay Area for better development strategies and outcomes. The speed of change is phenomenal here and I sincerely invite you to come and witness it yourself.
